Ethan Turns 4!

Ethan is now 4 years old! We can't believe he is growing up so fast. He is now potty trained (hurray!) and almost never naps (not so cool) Here are a few things we love about him:

-He is so inquisitive, he loves to ask who, what, when, where, why and how questions. Especially when we are in the car: Where is that car going? Who is that person walking? How come that car stopped? Why is that car turning? We often don't know the answer his questions and so will ask him what he thinks, and its funny to hear him try to come up with an answer.
-He has "great ideas"  He often will say "I have a great idea" and its followed by something he knows isn't a great idea, like when its a great idea to eat his chocolate candy before dinner.  We know we are in for something good when he announces he has a great idea! He sure does make us laugh!
-He loves to play with his sister Lillian.  He is always asking if she is up from her nap yet and the second he hears her, he runs upstairs to open the bedroom door. He loves to give her big hugs, though she doesn't always like it. Lately  we have been finding him asleep in her bed at night.
-He loves to be outside, even in the cold, playing with his diggers and dump trucks.  He spends hours doing his "work".  He loves to watch a show called Mighty Machines on Netflix and recreates what he sees on there.  He pretends he has crushers to compact the trash, back hoe loaders to dig up dirt to install pipe lines or uses his bulldozer to move imaginary loads.
-He remembers everything (not always a good thing!) We went to a friend's house once and months later when we drove by the road and he yelled out, that's where my friend lives!
-He is so smart, we were at the Kohls and he saw a toy he wanted, I told him it was not on sale (and he knows I don't buy anything unless its on sale) and too much money so we were not getting it.  He thought for a minute then said, "I have a great idea, you can put back some of the shirts you are buying me and then you will have more money for the dump truck!" We love that he is already problem solving.
-He is developing a sense of humor.  He makes funny faces at babies to make them laugh.  If he does something silly that makes Lillie laugh, he will do it over and over again.  He sings songs replacing lyrics with random words to make Lillie laugh. For example, Old MacDonald had a farm is now Old MacDonald had some pants.
-He is excited about the new baby coming, we have a count down to when the baby is coming that he has to look at every morning. He loves to put his hand on my belly to feel the baby "wiggle".
-He loves to snuggle on the couch and give you a big hug while telling you that he loves you :)

Here is his birthday interview, just like I did last year
