The Zoo

Last Friday, Ryan and I went to the zoo. We should have been home packing since we moved the next morning, but we had a great time, so it was worth it. Ryan decided that we should get there before it got too hot and too crowded, so we left our place a 6am...thats right, 6AM! We got there by 7 and the zoo was empty. The weather was perfect and the animals were a lot more active than we have seen in the past. Our favorites were the pandas and the elephant.

BIG NEWS

So its been awhile, mostly because we have been so busy with school and work. But Ryan is finally done with school, wahoo! School ended for me last week, so we are free for the summer! Ryan is searching for a job right now and hopefully will find one soon.

The biggest news for us is that I am pregnant!!! The baby is due January 14(according to the doctor) or January 19 (according to the sonogram technician) so we will see who is right. So far other than exhaustion, I am doing pretty good. I have been teasing Ryan since we found out saying I had a feeling it was twins, but the sonogram revealed one baby. Ryan was very relieved and thinks one baby is more than enough for now.

We have plans to visit Utah, Idaho (same trip), New Jersey, Connecticut and Vermont so we will be pretty busy this summer. Ryan's newest hobby is photography (He takes pictures of everything...see the flower picture) so hopefully we will have a lot of pictures to post after each trip. He is also determined to document every part of the pregnancy, so far I am holding off on the belly shot until it actually looks like I am pregnant :)

March Madness Tour

During our crazy semester, we did manage to get away to see UMBC play in the first round of the NCAA Basketball tournament in Raleigh, North Carolina. The first game was Davidson vs. Gonzaga. That was a really good game. Afterward was the UMBC vs. Georgetown in which UMBC was soundly defeated. We were able to get some tickets from leaving Davidson fans and had pretty good seats for the UMBC game. What made the trip even better, was that I got to see my old BYU roommate, Katie! We stayed at her house one night and met her husband and their cute son Benjamin. The next day we drove up to Monticello(Thomas Jefferson's house). The day after we drove up Skyline Drive and then visited Luray Caverns. Skyline Drive was nice, though it was much too cold to walk around and is probably a lot prettier in the summer and fall. We did see a lot of deer though, I think over 50 in all. Luray Caverns was pretty cool, though we were both disappointed in the number of people who touched the stalagmites and stalactites, even after being warned not to several times by the guide. Ryan took so many pictures that he still (almost 3 months later) has not gone through and edited them all.
