Cupcakes

The other night Ryan decided to make cupcakes with Ethan. Ryan dumped the cake mix in a bowl and then turned around to get some eggs. This is what happened while his back was turned:

We were both laughing so hard when we saw his face.  All he said was "cupcakes in mouth" He never says the word "eat".  If he wants to eat something, its always "xxx in the mouth"  I guess he couldn't wait for them to be done.  When he saw that it made us laugh, he kept doing it! Ryan had to put the bowl on top of the fridge between each step to make sure Ethan didn't eat it all before baking it.

Here is the finished product.  He loved them! We put them on top of the fridge because he kept asking for cupcakes in the mouth.  However the next day he just climbed up on the counter and helped himself!

He loves popsicles as well.  He calls them motsicles, which sounds an awful lot like his word for motorcycle. It took Ethan a while to get a hang of licking them rather then just biting it and then spitting it out because it was too cold.  They have been fun to enjoy on these hot days.

Poolside

We have awesome neighbors who let us use their pool whenever we want.We gone over there several times so far this summer to cool off. Now that Ethan knows the pool is there, he is always trying to cross the street and saying "swimming in the pool". Both Ethan and Lillie love the water. Here are some pictures of us enjoying the pool.

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July.  We enjoyed the picnic at our church and then a lazy evening at home. We opted to stay home and not go out for fireworks since we aren't sure how much Ethan and Lillie will actually enjoy it. Maybe next year we will try it!

 Ethan participated in the parade they had in the church.  We forgot his "motorcycle" (thats what he calls his tricycle) so its a good thing the church has a few ride-on toys to borrow!

 I got a small piece of cake and saved it for after I finished my burger.  But when I turned around this is what I saw. The little stinker ate it, the evidence is all over his face! We need to teach him to only eat from his own plate, he is always stealing my cheerios in the morning (yes, I still eat cheerios without milk)

 They had water games for the kiddos, great for the hot day.

 Ethan got his first taste of a snow cone.  He must be like me and wasn't impressed by it at all, he didn't even finish it.

 I wonder how old Ethan and Lillie will be when I am finally able to get a decent picture of both of them.

Her 4th of July outfit

Lillie is 8 months!

Little Lillie is already 8 months.  She is now mobile and is able to crawl everywhere.  She especially likes to crawl to shoes so she can chew on them.  She has also started pulling herself up to a standing position.  Ryan looked up one morning to see her standing in the crib! We hadn't lowered it yet, oops! She is already showing her independence, when she stands up using our hands, she tries to get us to let her go! 

She is more consistent with her two daily naps.  The silly girl usually wants me to be there when she falls asleep.  I've taken rubbing her belly until she is calm, then sitting next to the crib where she can see me.  I wait until she closes her eyes or has turned away from me to sneak out by crawling low enough so she won't see any movement.  The things I do for her! 

She is still toothless (which is fine by me!) and loves to chew on everything. She loves to talk and is always making silly sounds.  Ethan and Lillie have just started playing together and its fun to watch them interact.  Lillie is going to be one tough little girl, they love to crawl on each other!
