Little Photoshoot

I saw an adorable picture of a little girl sitting in a chair in a hay field and wanted to recreate it.  It didn't come out quite as I pictured but I still think they are cute!
Ethan wanted to pull the wagon that the rocking chair was in...
but he kept taking the chair out before going anywhere!
She wasn't so sure about this at first...

now she likes it!

Our little cutie!
I think I would be worried if I was riding with Ethan too!

Bushnell Park

Playgroup last week was to Bushnell Park where the kids got to ride the carousel. We had fun and I always enjoy getting together with a great group of ladies.
Ethan was not a fan of getting on the horse, he really wanted to sit in the wagon (one of the benches) but I was determined to have him on a horse so he could get the full experience.  He did like it once it got started.
Its always nice to eat lunch with a friend!
Lillie was all over the place, she loves to move around!

Lillie's walking!

Shes been taking a few steps here and there for the last couple of weeks.  This weekend though she finally seemed to get the hang of it and started walking across the room and to things she wanted, not just into our arms.  She's growing up too fast!!!

Touch-a-Truck

Today we went to the Touch-a-Truck at Brodie Park.  Last night we told Ethan we were going to see real fire trucks the next day.  He was so excited and all morning long asked to see the real fire trucks.  Of course when we got there, he wanted nothing to do with the fire trucks and wouldn't even take a fire hat. He was really shy and didn't want to get near anything.
He warmed up once he saw a digger. He didn't want to get off it!

He sat in all the different trucks and even got to honk the horn in a few.  I think it surprised him that they were so loud.
He wanted to run up and down on the school bus, good thing he still has a few years to learn no running on the bus!
Home Depot had a station to build a small craft.  Ethan loved using a real hammer to bang in the nails.
Ethan with his finished helicopter. I got a new ergo carrier for Lillie and I love that I can wear her on my hip.  She likes the position the best and was happy to be there the entire time.
Finally, Ethan wanted to go see the fire trucks.
One more stop at the digger before we headed home.
One tired little boy.  I tried to take the ring pop away, but each time I did, he woke up and said "I eat" and would lick it before falling asleep again.

Thanks Traci for telling us about this event!

Around the house

Here are some random pictures I've taken recently of our silly kids!
Lillie loves shoes, seriously she is always gathering them up, hugging them and of course chewing on them.  When I am folding/putting away clothes, Lillie is in my closet pulling all my shoes off the rack and covering herself in them. I don't want to even think about when she gets older!
She is starting to become a heavy sleeper.  She was down for a nap and Ethan ran into the room yelling "Its, Ye-ye!!!" She didn't even move.  I snapped a picture because I have lots of Ethan sleeping but not a lot of her, I was always afraid to wake her.  She loves cuddly things with her when she sleeps even if they are blue and for a boy ;-) That's what happens when you have an older brother!
Lillie loves to stand with a toy, she can do it for a really long time.  Now she just has to work on her balance while moving.
Lillie started pushing this wagon around the yard, so Ethan decided to jump in and tell Lillie to push him. She did (with a little help from Daddy of course!)
Then it was Daddy's turn to push Lillie
Ethan wanted Lillie to race him down the driveway. Thankfully Daddy didn't let go of Lillie!
Lastly I pushed both of them in the wagon. We had to trade off who was pushing the wagon, it hurts your back after awhile.  Does that make us sound old?
Ethan loves trucks and towers. So why not make a tower out of trucks?

Labor Day walk

This past weekend we decided to hit the Farmington River trail. We enjoyed the beautiful weather. Ethan was in heaven running up and down the trail. When we got to the trail part, Ethan got excited and said we were in the rain forest! He then told us "Swiper get Lille, Swiper get Momma..." as he ran around us in circles. He is obsessed with Dora and Diego which is why he thought we were in the rain forest and that Swiper the sneaky fox was out to get us. We walked way farther than we should have with two little kids. It was just so nice out we kept walking and didn't realize that we would have to turn around and walk the same distance back.  Luckily Lillie napped and Ethan has way to much energy to slow him down for long.

 Our happy girl
Lillie wanted a chance to walk too!
Ethan loves to push the stroller, but he's not allowed to if Lillie is actually in it.  He managed to roll it down the side of the trail at one point.
Lillie has to do what Ethan does.

This is what Ethan looked like for most of the walk.  He is non-stop all the time!
Lillie got tired and took a nap on Daddy.
Ethan and I rested for a bit next to the trail overlooking the river.  If I had let him, he would have jumped right in!
Small break in the stroller before jumping out to find spiders.
Lillie woke up just before we reached the car.  Ethan was trying to get Ryan to race him across the bridge.  We hope to get to the trail more often now that the weather is cooler.  Once Lillie is big enough, we can't wait to get out our bikes and bike trailer to use on the trail.

Lillie is 10 months old

Lillie is now 10 months old! Her first tooth has started poking though on the bottom left. We think another one is about to come through on the top. She is finally sleeping through the night consistently (hurray!).  She is almost walking and has taken a few steps.  Her favorite game is to stand up, lift her arms high in the air and then throw herself on me. She got me right in the eye the other day, it hurt!  She laughs and does it over and over again.  She can now stand up without the aid of furniture. Lillie loves to put her hands and feet on the floor and stick her butt in the air.  She'll look at you through her legs and laugh. Its like she is playing peekaboo.  She is climbing up the stairs and was very upset at the gate we put across the bottom step. Lillie loves to be outside and is quick to crawl to the door when she sees someone open it. She is daring and has tried several times to go down the deck stairs.
Lillie has started to fight back when it comes to Ethan bugging her.  One day we left them alone while Ryan and I finished up last minute dinner preparations.  All of the sudden we hear Lillie scream.  As I run over there Ethan starts screaming.  I find Lillie on top of Ethan pulling his ear! Ethan probably head butted her or knocked her off so Ryan and I just had to laugh (they were both fine once I got her off of Ethan) I wonder how Ethan will take Lillie standing up for herself?
