Pig Roast

Yesterday my parents had their annual pig roast! Tons of food and people made for a great time. The pig was particularly moist this year and the chicken was delicious as well. Here are some pictures from the big day.

Ryan and Ethan

My Dad checking the pig, notice the chickens on the side, they take the same amount of time to cook as the pig

He likes tummy time now

The only picture of me from the party taken by my 6 year old cousin...I have to get Ryan back on camera duty!

Ethan is 6 months

Ethan is 6 months old today. Unfortunately we celebrated by bringing him to the doctor to get 4 shots. He did okay though and was smiling by the time we left. He is now 28.25 inches and 17 lbs 14 oz. He's at the 95th percentile for length and now the 60th for weight. I still think he's chubby, but apparently he's a beanpole. Maybe it is because green beans are the only real food he likes. So far we've also tried applesauce, avocado, banana, sweet potato and squash. He's getting used to them but still only loves cereal.
He was a little grumpier then usual from the 4 shots but I did manage to take some pictures. I love black and white pictures so I changed most of them from color. Notice the curl sticking up, I tried everything to get it down, but nothing worked.
Enjoy!

(almost) Wordless Wednesday

Today we just relaxed in the backyard while Grandpa fixed the netting around the blueberry patch.

A Fabulous Friday

While Ethan is napping, I've decided to post the pictures from today's adventure. With Ryan still busy working on my grandma's house(they've started putting the primer on), it is nice that my mom and Rebecca, who are teachers, have been able to hang out with us. Today was gorgeous outside so we decided to go to Simsbury. We stopped at the town's old cemetery (something we loved to do as little kids) and then went to Tulmeadow Farm shop for ice cream which is made on site.
Mom, Jack, Audrey, Ashley, Ethan and Rebecca walking up the hill. I love the row of trees.

Grandma and Ethan

Audrey and Jack got tired of walking up the hill...and I quickly got tired of holding them!

Finally going down the hill

Ethan's hair is always wild now, he needs baby hair gel!

All of us

Enjoying the ice cream

Relaxing before we head home.

We couldn't get Jack to sit with Audrey, he tried to hide his face every time we took his picture. We would have to pretend to take the picture and then say all done, then he would turn his face and we could quickly snap a picture.

Grandma with Jack and Audrey (she calls my mom Grandma, too!)

After Jack was all done with his ice cream, he went to the window to nicely say "more ice cream please" He was not happy when no more ice cream appeared in the window.

We had a great time this afternoon. This will likely be the last outing for Ashley for a little while as Cindy will be here on Monday!

Elizabeth Park

Ryan and Justin are finally done scraping, but can't start painting because of the wet weather, so we decided to go to Elizabeth Park. My mom, Rebecca, my grandparents and the McDermotts all came.
First we had a picnic. My mom had a cute picnic basket and the red and white checkered table cloth but there were no picnic tables!

Ryan walking around the rose garden

Jack tried really hard to open that door.

My grandparents, notice how Ito refuses to look at the camera when you take his picture. He says he never has and never will.

My mom and her parents.

What a life to be able to nap whenever you want. he always ends up asleep by the end of our adventures.

The Fisher Family

Ryan took some great photos of the flowers (and I took a few too!) Here is the album if you'd like to see them.

4th of July

Ryan and Justin are still working on Granny's house so we didn't go to Vermont with my family. We did go over to the McDermott's house after they were done for the day. During Ethan's nap, I decided to be adventurous and decorate the cupcakes I was bringing to Ashley's. I don't like to cook or bake, so it was unusual for me to want to even put icing on them(since I don't like icing). I found an idea online and it was actually fun to do! Maybe Ryan will one day have a wife who will make him all sorts of fancy meals and treats. Not yet though, I've been spoiled living here with my parents. With my dad and brother both not working, I haven't needed to cook in a long time. We close on our house in two weeks and will probably move in mid-August so I'll have to start cooking soon.

Here are the cupcakes, I thought they turned out cute!

I brought my camera to the McDermotts, but unfortunately I left the SD card at home, so I couldn't take any pictures. Fortunately Ashley did take some pictures, so here are the ones I stole off her blog. We had a good time relaxing over there. No fireworks for us, Jack and Ethan are too little.

Ethan was happy chilling in his car seat for a long time. It was great for us, we didn't have to take turns standing up and holding him. Today we put this seat away and got out the bigger convertible car seat. Our little guy is getting so big!

Jack was having a great time pushing Ethan around in his car. Ryan had to hold him or else he would have fallen right out!

Here are the men with their boys!
